Abstract
Stephen Covey in his book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” explicates the habits that can be adopted by entrepreneurs in order to become successful in their business. These habits are the decisive activities that individuals repetitively do in a comparable way on daily basis whereby their character is a composite of their behaviors. According to Stephen, no matter how the contemporary situation looks like, it is not an individual’s habit. Old and negative habits can be replaced with new habits of effectiveness, trust-based correlations and happiness. The Seven Habits move individuals progressively on the maturity continuum from independence to interdependence (Lunenburg & Ornstein, 2012). Dependence is the paradigm of an individual to rely on others so much both emotionally and physically. No human being can survive alone from birth without the help others around them, for instance, in my public elementary school, us teachers we are obligated to aid the students in acquiring the most imperative knowledge and skills. For example, I often employ graffiti, which is my favorite cooperative learning activity. In the activity, I form six pieces of chart with one statement on every piece of the paper. I then group my students by giving each a marker. The students rotate through the pieces of chart paper responding to the prompt on the paper. Every student has to write something since every student is holding a marker. At the start of the year, I normally make the statements simpler, but as the year continues, I fairly augment the intricacy of the using the academic questions in order to review the …show more content…
Independent people do not require other individuals around them for support whereby emotionally, they decide to choose what makes them happy and sum it all to choose what best fits their way of life. The final paradigm of maturity continuum is interdependence, which involves cooperation (Lunenburg & Ornstein, 2012). The independent individual realizes that there is a lot that can be accomplished through the combination of their talents and capabilities besides producing something bigger mutually. For instance, in my workplace, teachers are mandated to employ their teaching capabilities and talents to ensure that learners produce the best results. There are a combination of talents and abilities to effectively enhance the overall outcome. It is for this reason that the maturity continuum fosters interdependence over independence and dependence since there are collective efforts and capability in the interdependence paradigm. Besides, there is a pool of talents and abilities from the various players involved such as in the public elementary schools so as to accomplish the task at hand more effectively as compared to the other two paradigm shifts (Covey,

Theory is the transition from ‘play age’ to ‘school age’. Students need praise and support to move from one stage to the next (Duchesne, S., McMaugh, A., Bochner, S., & Krause, K, 2013). My first practise-based experience involves Joshua, a five year-old who is building independence at a slower rate than his peers. On one occasion the class was placing their bookbags and clothing into their school bags at the end of the school day. A teacher and a techer aide needed to support Joshua to pack his belongings as he has not yet reached the ‘school age’ stage of independence.…

There was a point in my life where the stress of work spilled over into my personal life and would affect the relationships that I had with others. I also think that being honest and being able to follow through on commitments are important in both the personal and professional areas of my life. One of the areas that I do need to improve involves talking about people behind their back.…

Modification of My Daily Rituals is my interpretation of Stephen Guise’s book, Mini Habits, which discusses a more effective way of adhering to positive changes made in life. Mini habits are very small routines, usually derived from a larger routine that is difficult to maintain regularly. The book, mini Habits, gives rationale for going smaller, such as doing one sit up daily, as opposed to doing far more in one day. Is willpower better than motivation? Mini Habits also discusses the tools needed for maintaining a newly added, extremely small daily habits.…

The transition from independence to dependence, which they have already become familiar with in childhood, may take a toll on their mental health. Dependence may play a very strong role in aging that leads to one realizing the truth, that they are truly growing older. There are many ways that this loss of independency can impact an individual as this dependence may cause a loss in privacy, the assumption that they are a burden on family members, and a lost sense of individuality. Researchers have carried out studies comparing the loss of independence in relation to their mental health for the purpose of determining at what point they are affected by dependence and the type of psychological impact it has on each…

In the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, he claims people can understand and change personal habits. Duhigg provides a description of the so-called habit loop composed of a cue, routine, and reward, pointing out the cues start habits and rewards signal the brain to remember routines. In fact, the author's purpose is to inform the reader about habit loops so they can see how habits work and thus remake them. Independence is fundamental for individual growth. McGinn describe it as “making up your own mind based off evidence and not being swayed by social conformity or threat.” The good of this basic virtue is that it creates opportunities for success, improves confidence, eliminates reliance on others, increases happiness and assist in self accomplishment. The advantage of following this maxim is the individuality and distinction that sets one apart from the uniform practice. Consequences for not following this maxim is the lack of original identity, the expansion of normality and if there is scarcity of independence, a possible hindering of…
