“Under certain physiologic or experimental conditions, stem cells can be induced to become mature cells with special functions that help cure diseases” (Aldridge). Studies have shown that stem cells can replace virtually any tissue or organ that is injured or diseased, yet no other medicine or drug has been able to perform such a task. Most people would rather choose chemotherapy treatments simply because stem cell processes take years to confirm. However, are stem cells a higher quality when entered into the body than chemotherapy? Stem cells can cure many different illnesses, and there are two different types such as adult, and embryonic, however; chemotherapy affects the body in a negative way. Therefore, their ability to regenerate new healthy cells and heal a patient with cancer is almost predictable. With their abilities to self renew themselves unlimitedly, this also allows the cells to produce healthy cells as well, which will help get rid of cancer faster. In most cases they get rid of all the cells affected from the cancer, and not just the “bulk” of the disease. Alice Park stated, “You have to remove the pathological cause of the problem and to ensure that it doesn’t return”. Embryonic stem cells are fully capable of nurturing the cells while getting rid of the destroyed cells.
