Stamp Act Research Paper

Wow the stamp act happened 250 years ago .The stamp act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The stamp act was where they put taxes on every single thing that you could buy.They were even putting taxes on newspaper. Anything that was paper or anything that you could eat was or would be taxed for more money for the king. The colonist were getting really mad because it was taking money out of your pocket. Since everything cost so much people could not afford to feed their families so some people were starving to death. The actual cost of the stamp act was relatively small. The king and parliament were taking advantage of the colonist and the stamp act. They all were greedy over money at that time even the king because he had to get more food to his location to get more money off the colonist. All the colonist were getting mad because it took way too much money out of their pockets so people were finding ways to get food. People were stealing food and planting seeds to make food. This was a series time the king was ordering people to be killed for getting caught stealing at the time. Everyone was stealing at the time though even the kids where to help their families to survive and not have to pay so much money for food to eat. Many colonist were talking about the Stamp Act and that is what lead up to the tea party. The British Parliament put taxes on everything including the tea colonist were so mad that they dressed up as the Native Americans.When they got dressed they got on the ship with all the tea on it and threw it in the Boston Harbor. The stamp act made everybody mad and upset it was a major depression time during that time
