The British thought this would be an easy war, but little did they know it wasn’t. The colonist thought with the British help they would win, and gain more land. The Indian’s won, and offered a deal. The colonist would be able to stay in the thirteen colonies, but they couldn’t settle across the Alps. The Pontiac’s rebellion was about colonist expansion. Therefore, they put taxes on the colonist for the war debt. Chief Pontiac sent his forces to defeat the forts. They made the proclamation of 1763. Therefore they couldn’t inter Indian territory. The stamp act was when they put parliament on paper products. The money will pay for protection from Native Americans. The real coast was really small. The standard it set was that the parliament could put taxes on the colonist. Therefore the colonist said they had taxation without representation. The colonist felt like they were not equal. Most colonists believed they could not do anything. Until the Virginia house of burgesses adopted the Patrick Henry’s Stamp Act Resolves. This declared that all Americans had the same rights as the English. Kabam went the Declaratory Act. This made it were parliament could pass laws. These laws could be made at any point in time. Colonist began to feel like they have lost total control of the colonies. Therefore the British thought the colonies weren’t able to make their own laws. This also meant they could not have hearings in their own court. The British also thought that the trials in court were not fair. So all royals went to England for trial. This was not fair to the colonist. “Click” just like that parliament put new taxes on the colonist. These taxes were called the Townsend Act. This act put taxes on glass, lead, and paint.
