“Hah, I won once again,” my sister, Linda, yelled out. I couldn’t put anything into words, my sister kept winning over and over again. I was so devastated, I wanted to win but I couldn’t. “Elvis, wake up and get ready,” my dad yelled at me. My head was spinning from waking up, I didn’t know why we were waking up so early. It was 7:30 AM, it was July 23, 2009. It was a sunny morning. I got out of my bed and started getting ready. “Hurry up, we are going to be late for the trip,” my dad told me. I was wondering what trip we were going to. Once I got ready to go, I asked my dad in a questioning tone of voice, “Where are we going anyway?” “We are going to Six Flags,” my sister said in a tone of voice as if I should know already. I was feeling excited to go there, but feeling a little bit scared to go to some of the games and rides. My family and I with my uncle were going to Six Flags, so we got into the car and started driving. The ride there was really long, there was many pit stops to go get gas and other things we might need like water. The drive there took longer than I expected, there was traffic and the ride was boring, since there was nothing to do. I was thinking in my head that I could win. Before this game, we played many other games like whack-the-mole and I only won one game. Eventually, after the long line, we got to play the game. The objective of the game was to shoot water in the fish’s mouth. I kept thinking in my head that I could do this, that I could win. Eventually, we all started playing the game. Shooting the water in the fish’s mouth was a bit hard for me. I thought this was going to be an easier game than I thought. It was hard to angle it in the fish’s mouth. I eventually got it in the fish’s mouth, but the timer was up. The person in charge of the game declared the

Two years ago, my boyfriend and I brought his two daughters to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ for the first time. We all loved roller coasters, except for the youngest daughter because she had never been on a roller coaster before. I knew that if she did not go on a ride that my boyfriend would have to stay behind her. When we were walking into the park, I continued to tell her that I know she will go on all the roller coasters. She would then respond to me each time with “No I won’t”.…

How hard could it be to stand up on a board? Well, this first experience gave way to my development of mental persistence. It was the intense inclination to make it out to the lineup that thrust my mind into a trance, cultivating my curiosity for the prediction of what was to come. I was mindful of direction, and although my arms tired of pulling dense liquid through and through, it seemed like I had a duration of time just long enough to fathom the beauty of the sun hitting the water so as to make it seem like stars were dancing on the surface. I had time to consider the flow and direction of water and how rejuvenating the salt water felt on my skin, and to ponder the movement of water and how it firmly pushed against the board trying to send me back to shore.…
