Both stories share common characteristics, but they have different perspectives in what was presented to their audience. The two stories explained how the landmark of the Stone Mother and how the Big Fish shaped the land that exist today. Whether they came from myth or real narratives, they provided the listeners with a sense of identity and ethical values. In the Stone Mother video, it provided a connection in how different group of individuals were formed in the past, yet they are still connected to the same mother that created them. In the Big Fish video, the story not only explained the formation of different landscapes around the state of Nevada, but also the linkage in how all the fishes are connected to each other, particularly to the Big Fish, no matter where their location may be. With all the wrongs that were created by the Christians, de las Casa believed that “it is the duty of the king, with greatest study and vigilant industry, to root them out…” (“Bartolomé De Las Casas A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies”, pg 1). In the text, he mentioned that those who had called themselves Christians were not following what God and His Church wanted; but taking “cruel, bloody, and tyrannical warfare” (“A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies, pg 2) actions that can harm the community drastically instead. The amount of souls that were destroyed demonstrated the greed of these Christians in hope that can be brought by the lord. Bartolomeo believed that if he sent this piece to the king, the lord would understand that “the acts of malice and treachery” (“Bartolomé De Las Casas A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies”, pg 3) by the people were against God’s will and His appreciation cannot be delivered to them. Bartolomeo de las Casa’s main purpose in writing this short account was to persuade the lord Prince of all the Spain don Felipe that violence is causing innocent lives to be taken away due to the acts of those who called themselves
