The emergence of Hebrew monotheism (1500-600B.C.) and Egyptians polytheism have helped create the world today when it comes to religion. Both the Egyptians and the ancient Hebrews had a major influence on the ancient world but they also had very different religions and religious practices. The ancient Hebrew’s were monotheistic and the Egyptians were polytheistic. The two different religious views greatly affected society in the ancient world, causing conflict between the Hebrews and the Egyptians. “When Abram was ninety-nine years old Yahweh appeared to him and said, ‘I am El Shaddai. Passover is when the Hebrews put blood of a lamb on the doors of Hebrew family’s so the angel of death would pass over their houses and only kill the first born of Egyptians. The ten commandment are famous because of the story of Moses helping the Hebrews escape the Pharaoh, parting the red sea, and then going to the top of a mountain and talking to god through a burning bush, and supposedly god inscribed the ten commandments onto stone for his chosen people to abide by, and Christians still abide by those commandments to this
