Similarities Between Zoroastrianism, Judaism, And Christianity

This modules essay is a very intriguing and inspiring segment of the text. The religions that inspired this essay include Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity. The elements that will be discussed in detail will include a look at the common grounds that each religion might share, some similarities that may exist between the three faiths, an inspection of their distinctions, and uniqueness of each religious practice. Now that we have distinguished each topic that will be explicated on, let’s dive into the first topic of discussion. Between the Zoroastrians, Jews, and Christians, each worship one God. Zarathushtra and Zoroastrians worshipped Ahura Mazda. Zoroastrians monotheistic belief was reserved, “but still retaining their association with forces of nature – the earth, the arch of the sky, water, plants, cattle, and fire” (Fisher 242). Meanwhile, the Jews and Christians also worshipped one true and triune God. According to the Jews, “ “Israel” refers to all those who answer to the call of God and who acknowledge and strive to obey the one God, through the Torah, or “teaching,” given to the patriarchs, Moses, and the prophets” (Fisher 246). The Christian faith is “based on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus,” which keeps within the common grounds of worshipping one God (monotheism) (Fisher 302). The Christian faith does not observe the “forces of nature” like the Zoroastrians do, but the Christians do appreciate and respond to God’s creation which includes everything that is created by Him and not by man. …show more content…
