would make it more competitive- Getting paid to play college ball would make it easier to look at school as more of an opportunity worth taking. More kids would see a reason as to why they should play sports in college. They would work harder in high school knowing that there is a reward not very far down the road. Instead of trying to find jobs during their athletic career they could focus more on their games and practices. All their extra energy could be put into them becoming a better athlete and team player. They would be better competitors which in the end would in turn, make the NCAA more money. They pay they would receive would give all athletes of all ages a reason to keep pushing and a goal to reach for. The competition would be so much bigger between the teams and the players, especially at younger ages. make money football careers can be short- Mark Herzlich; 29 and a linebacker for the New York Giants. Mark and his family have lived next to us since we moved in. A great athlete, but had always had a little bit of a struggle in academics. Mark decided to commit to Boston College for football in 2006. He earned All-American his freshman year, which is unheard of, and kept excelling from there. Getting increasingly better every year, Mark was a stunning athlete. In November 2008, Herzlich was projected top 15 pick in the 2009 NFL draft. After turning down many amazing offers, Mark decided to keep on going with his college career and head back to BC for the 2009…
