A booming economy and personal charity is what we need to lower the poverty and unemployment rates. Nobody owes someone else a good life. Everyone has the right to choose, and a larger taxation on someone who has worked hard to earn their money is theft. A hard working, middle class man with a good paying job must pay more in taxes than a lower-income earner, even if the tax rate wasn’t progressive. Now add a higher rate, various bills, and child support to the picture. This hard-working man is now equivalent to someone else who isn’t working as hard and receiving the benefits he is paying for. Someone who is successful should not be penalized for it. A higher tax on the rich more discriminates against those who are making the economy prosper. Most of the rich and very rich donate a lot to charity, communities, and schools. It is wrong to just expect them to give their money to other people. Individuals will donate if they want but taxing them more is plain stealing and infringing on their personal
