If Bernie Sanders was in control of the United States
If Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders became the next president of the United States, it would hugely be shocking, due to the fact that he is not a normal candidate, as he is referred as a socialist. Therefore, whether it's on campaign finance or income taxes, things are really going to change. Sanders is a socialist, and by winning the presidency, he would be the first socialist president to rule the United States of America. I am for Sanders and agree on his ways and proposals of ruling the nation.
The topic I will be discussing deals with the way that Sanders will manage the nation. Sanders wants to increase the tax rate and increase minimum wage. The American society that

The bill “College for All Act” would make college available for those who can’t afford to pay for an education. “Sanders focuses on the potential benefits of this big idea because low income students could find college doors opened to them and all students could graduate without debt.”(Fahrenthold) Those students who graduate with debt are mostly those who belong to the low income class, which only means that making college free would really benefit the low income class and the economy. “We live in a highly-competitive global economy and if our economy is to be strong, we need the best-educated work force in the world” (Shramm) stated Bernie Sanders on the necessity of the bill. Sanders statement is very accurate. You cannot have the best educated work force in the world when many individuals are not given the chance of a higher education because they can’t afford college. Making college free will welcome those with the desire to learn and excel …show more content…
“Sanders and his $18 trillion dollar proposal comes from things that the people are already paying for in taxes” (Waldman). Sanders wants to change the way we pay for taxes. For example, today college is paid for by the students and what Sanders would do to guarantee free college tuition would be for it to be paid the same way that we pay for roads, parks, schools, and other things through our taxes. “Sanders also wants to spend $1 trillion over ten years on infrastructure” (Waldman). It will create new jobs and has it benefits over time. Republicans believe that by a higher tax rate on the wealthy will delay the growth of the economy. Yet, “Economists have pointed out that post-war American growth has been higher during periods with much higher top marginal tax rates...”(Covert) Taxing the wealthy at a 90 percent would help to lower the unfairness of wealth and everyone’s wellbeing would improve, equally for both the rich and poor. Many other Republican presidential candidates have also agreed with Sanders proposal and have backed up his

I believe that in today's climate the Republicans are anything but conservative and Democrats are conservative, that Bernie Sanders is a conservative because he proposes less spending, smarter spending, with less tax dollars being spent on all the wrong things and this is why I’m voting for him. Bernie is conservative on healthcare. Currently this country spends more on healthcare than any other country in the world without even guaranteeing it. This is a result of tax dollars competing to provide care with private health insurance. Private health insurance offers no oversight and the prices keep skyrocketing to pay off investors with very little of the actual cost paid going to real health providers like nurses, technicians, and doctors.…

The people who support raising taxes on the rich think that the government just needs more funding to be able to do all the projects the government wants to have accomplished. “Further, Mr. Obama wants to raise taxes on the "rich," believing that we need more revenue for his projects” (Kleist). They believe that the government needs more money to spend on important projects. Taxing the rich would bring in more revenue for the government to spend; however, it is how they spend it that matters. The key to being able to fund these projects is not raising taxes on the rich; instead, it is learning how to spend the money that the government does make from taxes efficiently.…

If we made college free for everyone we would be funding the rich. Families that have the money to pay for some or all of the cost of a college education might choose instead to take advantage of free college at a public institution. Amelia Josephson said, “In effect, the government and taxpayers would be subsidizing the rich. Critics of free college who point to this drawback often argue that a more targeted reform subsidizing college for the poor and the middle class would make more sense. They also point to the example of Brazil, a country with free college where wealthy students reap a lot of the benefits of tuition-free education at public universities.”…
