Should advertisements targeting children be banned in the United States, why or why not?

American businesses advertise to children as well as adults. Over thousands of children influence their parents to spend $249 billion dollars in a matter of just over a year. Children of all ages have all saw something that they have wanted their parents to buy for them, however, this can cause major problems and chaos for the adults because not everyone may have the money to just toss it right out the window.
