One freezing April morning in Sacramento, California, the boy with dark hair and yellow skin came into a new world. He was a first child of one Asian American family and his name William. Everyone in his family excited to have him as a new member. As William was too little, he could communicate with his parents only by crying. At that time, he cried whenever he was hungry or upset about something. William not only was challenging to communicate with others but also had a difficult time to adjust to his new environment. Therefore, his parents needed to do something to help him to adapt in the outside world. As the time passed by, and it was not that long, then William could change himself to his new world. Later, he started getting more curious and wanted to know everything surround him.
Time is for him to start recognizing new objects. The color that he could see only black and white, and classical relaxation or baby music was only his favorite. When his mother tried to communicate with him, she needed to be more connected to him. Also, black or white color shirt could help him to recognize her clearer. One day, his mother was in dark shirt and talked to him “hi, William!” then he looked at her with a smiling face. At the same time, she also brought him a zebra toy with a black and white stripe; he looked happier with his toy. William familiar both sound and sight. At that time, he familiar his mother sound as he identified his favorite music. Every time he went to sleep or his mother left him alone, she played him with a classical music like Mozart Lullabies Babies, and Twinkle a Little Star. As William had changed his habit, after music, he tended to sleep longer hours. Thus, he napped twice during the day and slept more than ten hours at night. William infant’s life was amazing and filled with many new experiences to study. When he became a toddler, William turned to be more active. By that time, he started eating solid foods and drank milk. While the teeth were growing more, his front teeth looked like a rabbit’ teeth. He could chew and chew many things, including chewing his toys and crackers. Not only his mouth was busy, but his other physical part also got busy as well. Afterward, William was interested and searched everywhere. Too, he crawled everywhere inside his house to search for his new toys or anything that could keep him busy. For his safety, his mother had moved unsafe products away from him; therefore, he could only enjoy with some of his favorite toys. If he tried to search for something that he should not play or touch with, his mother said “No, No William!” Then he started to identify the word for not allowing him. Similar to disagreement’s word, he also learned from encouragement. When William started walking, he walked quite balance which made his parents to say “good job William.” As he kept more practicing on walking, he walked everywhere until he tired. William changed his habit when he grew a bit older. Sometimes he would be able to sit still to sing his song or to enjoy education movies. William knew how to count the number as he knew how read alphabetical order. At school, he still kept practicing number, the letter, and words that relate to those letters. For example, “A as an apple, B as a boy, D as a dog” and counted like “one duck, two ducks, three ducks were on a roll.” Not only academic learning, William also able to sing ABC’s song and became more social with some tinny friends from his school. Outside class time, he liked to play with Jason, Erik, and Kavin at the playground. Since preschool to elementary school, William had increased his knowledge from one year to another. From he knew only ABC and one, two, three, until he able to read and write or solve math problems. Besides those two subjects, William also interested in science, social study, history and other. For he did well almost all of those subjects, his parents were very proud of
