Even if a kid decided to exercise, but continued eating all the unhealthy food they would not see any results happening. Some people may say that if students do not like the food at school they could just bring a lunch from their house. The problem there is, students will still take junk food because it is the easiest to grab in the morning. Another problem people might think of is the cost of the healthy food, well the food pantry may be able to donate some healthy food that they have, and we could start fundraisers to get money to buy healthy…

Revolutionizing School Cafeterias Are you happy with the food your school is feeding you? Though some people believe schools already give you all you need as a meal and fast food restaurants can cause kids to become obese, others believe schools would make more money off of the kids because theyĺl buy food they like, plus theres a variety to choose from. Some people argue schools need to maintain a traditional cafeteria. For example, they believe this because lunch program is the only program in the school that actually makes money. They are wrong because schools hold fundraisers, like selling candy bars, having car washes and other activities that could help the school make money, and sell products to make money for the school.…

With childhood obesity skyrocketing over the decades, it raises the question if schools should ban junk food. During the growing and developing stages of adolescents, students need a healthy and well balanced diet to help them grow into healthy adults. Adolescents spend more time at school than at home and two of their main meals, breakfast and lunch, are provided there if they choose to eat at school. That’s almost up to fifty percent of their caloric intake (Gibson and Swartz). By reducing and or eliminating junk food from…

But while all of this is happening some schools are trying to fix this problem. In the same article, it states, “People are trying to make school lunches better, but now the food they are serving has fewer calories, fat, and more.” This is bad because kids won’t get enough healthy food in their bodies. Another reason isn’t about the lunch food, but about the kids. Many kids are still not eating healthy at school. Their lunch money is, instead of being spent in vending machines on sweets and snacks.…

They argue that meals served at school are healthy and balanced. The NSLP has cut the amount of calories and sodium in lunch and upped the amount of “fresh” fruit and vegetables. The reality is the food served at lunches is unappetizing. It is generally soggy and unflavorful and fruits and vegetables are not fresh. Even when a student eats their whole lunch, it is not filling enough for the amount of calories a student burns. Clearly, that is not enough to feed a pregnant mother. By eating healthy, the school lunches should consist of lean meats, vegetables, and plenty of options (Kosar). It is also not fair because the teachers can get however much food as they want.
