Golgotha was painted in the antiquity era, He had painted a trilogy of the painting and Golgotha was by far the hardest. The emotional message of the painting was much more than we can see, it shows pain, suffering, hardship, grace, forgiveness and love. Golgotha was much more than just a painting it was a story within its self. The message behind the picture is that Christ died for our sins. He was put on the cross for you and me and everyone else in the world. He didn’t have to do it he could have had God send 10,000 Angels to come and save him but he didn’t because he knew he had to for us. He was so unselfish and loving that he literally let people drive nails into his body so he could die for our sins. It shows that people didn’t really believe that he was the son of God. It showed that people didn’t believe in a power greater than man himself. It showed how cruel people could be and how they could torture people. It showed suffering and pain in not only the person being put up on the cross but the people that did believe you could see the pain in their eyes of their almighty God being hung and killed right in front of
