Directed by Robert Kenner, Food, Inc. was a documentary made by Participant Media & River Road Entertainment in 2008. Its main purpose was to expose the different food cooperation’s of the facts and any hidden secretes they might have in the Nation. This documentary is many different interviews from different establishments put together. The makers of Food, Inc. interview various employees and experts on their opinions on the business and unfair practices of these companies. During the film, Kenner presents the American food industry as a corrupt system, both environmentally and economically. By exposing his audience to the practices of large factories, Kenner tries to convince us that we are misinformed. The combination of tone and scene-shots used in the film serve to support the idea that, compared to rural farms, the conduct of massive food companies is unethical and damaging to the industry. The way the documentary is presented is of extreme compare and contrast between small farmlands and large, industrial businesses. When a farmland is on the screen, we hear positive language and see beautiful bright images, but a dark and dull tone is applied to …show more content…
By having these companies that many consumers are aware of, thi strengthens the makers of this documentary claim on the food industry. Morison did not turn down access for Food, Inc. to access her chicken farm and mentioned that, “The companies don’t want farmers talking. They don’t want this story told.” (Food, Inc.) Morison also explained that, “It doesn’t matter if the chickens get sick. All of the chickens will go to the plant for processing” (Food, Inc.).
