Pilgrim's And Happyland Preschool: A Case Study

Pilgrim’s and Happyland Preschool are two very distinct jobs in the workforce. Pilgrim’s orders chicken, slaughters it, and turns it into food. Meanwhile at Happyland Preschool children go to learn and to be taken care of. There are many different characteristics between these two jobs however the three most important ones are the purpose, environment, and the schedules of each job. Pilgrim’s is a company in which chickens are slaughtered then cut into different parts, so that they can be sold to different companies for food here in the United States, Mexico, and China. At Pilgrim’s everything is focused on the product. There are special regulations put in place that must be followed. In order, for the product to leave the plant the United States Department of Agriculture and Quality Assurance Department have to make sure that all the regulations are followed. Meanwhile, at Happyland the children are the main priority. Parents take them so that they will be watched and taught by child care workers. Child care workers are expected to treat the children right and maintain order. If an accident occurs there are protocols in place that need to be followed. At Pilgrim’s there are five different departments, in the evisceration department it is hot during the summer, and once it cools down outside it begins to cool down too. All the other departments are kept well under thirty five degrees in order to maintain the temperature of the chicken from approximately thirty to forty degrees. Most people walk around the departments with hoodies and sweaters to keep warm. On the other hand, at Happyland the temperature is always kept at approximately room temperature. All the children need to feel comfortable, unless they are taken outside to play the temperature may be a little bit warmer or cooler than
