Newsome Park Elementary School services the Southeast Community of Newport News, Virginia. Newsome Park Elementary School was denied accreditation in October of 2014. The Virginia Department of Education has developed contracts with several education companies as lead turn around partners for low achieving schools, such as Newsome Park. Newsome Park’s turn around partner (LTP) is Cambridge Education, LLC. Cambridge has a contract to provide excluding management services. The VDOE defines this as:
