Road Trip Rampage
“Hey can you guys be quiet? I’m trying to focus on driving!” The windows on the rusty station wagon began to shake. I turn up the music in an attempt to hide the laughter echoing from the back seat. It was coming from Liam and Maggie; the love birds. Khloe and I sat in the front, rolling our eyes at them. I was driving and she was guiding me using the worn out GPS; we made a good team. This was the beginning of a long road trip filled with amusing jokes and lots of laughs. We were headed to Arizona for the weekend to stay at my grandma's house. I told them everything would be fine and that I would go and see what was going on. I was hesitant stepping out of the car onto the gravel driveway, shocked that I was being the brave one. I walked hastily towards the shiny elegant mercedes. The lights were still glaring as I knocked on the window. The car window slowly rolled down halfway and then stopped. A pale man with brown curly hair wearing a black sweatshirt glared at me. He did not say anything, just sat there gazing at me. “Can I help you?” I asked. No response. “Do you need directions? Can I help you find where you need to go?” I attempted again with still no response. I turned and started to pick up pace as I walked back to the car anxious to tell my friends how odd this man was acting and how uncomfortable it was beginning to make me feel. “I asked if the guy in the car needed any help but he just stared at me, he didn’t say anything. “Should I call the police?” Khloe asked as I noticed that she was already dialing 911 on her phone.
I snatched it out of her hands, “No don’t do that, we don’t where this guy went or what he wants!” I said. I suggested that we quickly unpack the car and bring our bags inside. I figured that in there we would be a little bit more protected. “At least we are safe in here.” Maggie said as she headed to find a room to put her stuff in. Liam followed behind her. “I get the master bedroom, I called it!” I said, following closely behind Khloe. When we had all unpacked and gotten situated in our separate rooms we met up in the kitchen and stayed up until midnight playing cards, which distracted us from the creepy encounter that we had fortaken in earlier.
As we were getting ready to head off to bed Khloe questioned, “Look out the window, is the car still out there?”
