The purpose of this paper is to focus on a responsive caregiver who works with infants and toddlers. The primary caregiver and the environment have a strong impact on a child’s development. Infants and toddler’s routine are different; however, a responsive approach is used to implement them both. In order to promote a quality program certain characteristics, needs an established relationship, room structure, and routines in the classroom. A responsive caregiver builds a relationship with their infants and toddlers. A relationship can create memories and an emotional connection, which are formed by interactions, strong attachments, and daily routines. A responsive caregiver or primary caregiver pays attention and replies to their infants and toddler needs. However, a primary caregiver provides consistency, which gives children a sense of security Infants and toddler’s assessments and daily routines are implemented in the curriculum. A quality child care program will provide a responsive curriculum for infants and toddlers this will provide them with a positive environment. When it comes to infants we know they are active and self-learners, yet when comes to language skills they depend on the trusted caregivers. Infants require a lot of face to face connections. This was seen in cribs and over the diaper changing table. Those objects encourage infants to reach, work on eye coordination and stimulation. The room color should be a neutral color this will make the room feel more calming. Toddlers need a little more space when it comes their environment, and caregiving routines. The room structure in a toddler classroom is a safe physical environment. Which include family living, gross motor skills, toys, and sensory experiences.     The first observation I did was at the Esmelda daycare, this daycare is a family daycare there the woman and husband showed me what they did every day they said that the toddler had hours for everything like what time they eat, how much time they had to play. Esmelda daycare promote language through play time she has book that help the toddlers learn the different animal or the ABC the woman would read the book to toddler by pointing to animal or letter and saying what it was she would also promote language by playing with the toys like counting how many Lego blocks there is or by saying the color of the toy right now.
