How and why the Gospel of Luke originated and was transmitted (spread) over time.
The three stages of the Gospel formation is The Public life of Jesus, The Oral Period- Preaching and Teaching, Period of the Evangelists- The Gospels are recorded in written form. The Gospels according to Luke tells us about the beginning of Christianity. The Gospels are written in Greek so that Gentile Christians who are non-jews. Luke’s Gospel spread beyond Palestine and the original communities. Peter, Paul, and many other missionaries spread the good news in all directions. Luke’s Gospels were produced to spread the good news are about how Jesus’ message was written for anyone and/or everyone. Jesus’ aim was to have his followers pass the good news to future generations.

Luke wrote Parables about Jesus in his Gospel because Gentile Christians and many more were interested about Jesus and his teachings. In biblical times there was a lot of hatred between Jews and Samaritans. So by the Good Samaritan caring for the Jew was very unexpecting. This story tells us today in our society to show compassion and love for those we meet in our daily lives regardless of race, religion or social status. Our neighbour is anyone we encounter. We are called to act with love to all just as Jesus taught us. A Good Samaritan goes above and beyond what most people would do. This is very challenging.
