Will soon managed to save Horace’s life. That had so much effect that it completely turned their relationship into a new light. “The two boys faced each other for a moment, the Horace thrust out his hand and Will took it.” (p.145). It was at that moment when Will and Horace’s relationship had a big twist, where they both decided to stop being enemies. A while later, Horace realized that someone was trying to hurt Will. He remembered his promise to Will, “If you ever need a friend, you can call on me.” (p.152). Later, Horace managed to save Will’s life. Horace was an apprentice of a knight. He already followed the code of chivalry(being loyal). By the end of the book, Will and Horace became best friends. Will seemed to realize this, “He realized, with a glow of pleasure, that his relationship with Horace had evolved into a firm friendship, with each viewing the other as an equal.”
