First of all, by the end of the project, there will be more commercial areas. Adding in commercial areas, such as Rogers, RBC and FreshCo, will definitely help Regent Park grow economically and therefore, socially. The more commercial areas there are in a community, the more jobs there will be available, and the more jobs there are, the more likely it is for people outside of Regent Park to enter the neighborhood. With more people from outside of the community coming in, it won’t be as closed off as it was in the past and the neighborhood will prosper on a social aspect. This will also allow residents to get the resources they need faster. Instead of having to go out of the neighborhood, most likely using their car, they can just quickly walk to the store and buy whatever it is they need.
