Reflection When I signed up to take the Dural Enrollment class I thought I knew a lot about writing because I had such an amazing English teacher (Ms. Ferguson), but little did I know, that the writing that I had previously done was only the basics of writing. The first day I had a meet and greet session and learn the requirements of the class, and from that point on the work continued. Writing had always been one of my enjoyments, but it was challenging to take that initial step past the high school English papers, five-paragraph essay form, that constricted my ideas for so long. Moving past this form, however, has greatly opened my mind. My thoughts are now able to be more complex because I have learned how to sustain a logical argument in an organized manner. The first essay was an ad analysis and I thought it would be a breeze because how hard is it to talk about what you see, but because I have always been a thinker I over thought the process. A big plus for me was I keep on topic and had great content, but my biggest problem in the ad analysis paper were not really big grammar issues they were small issues such as wrong word usage, capitalization errors and word commissions. Once I received my grade I knew that the mistakes I was making were just carelessness and not taking the time to look over my paper and catching the mistakes. Another weakness was not developing my paper to its full potential and leaving the reader of my paper wondering about pieces missing…
