Our society has gotten too comfortable with the way that our country deals with problems. Thanks to modern technology people have more courage to say things behind a computer screen, than host public forums or other things that could help solve disputes. Police brutality has created increased tensions between African Americans and White America in many different ways. The killings on both sides have been caused by ethnic tensions that go back to the time of slavery and the tensions that were created after the seeming equality of African Americans and Caucasians. The continuous trials of African American civilians getting killed and being tried in court and not getting the outcome that these desperate families need have caused African American outrage and revenge in the killing of innocent white police officers. Police brutality causes a long riff that has been separating African American and Caucasians from living in peaceful harmony and many people have trouble controlling the violence that needs to be stopped. Have you ever thought that being a “redskin” could be offensive to the native americans ? The term redskin is a taboo that has originated from when the indians would scalp their head as a bounty to their tribe. This term is sacred to these tribes, but gets overlooked because the redskin is a tradition. There is a large disregard for the tribulations that the native americans have gone through because their culture is neglected by the american people. When settling the U.S territories, the army pushed the native americans off their land by killing them, taking their crops and various other things. Our country has little respect for the land, or traditions that the native americans created. In this current election, most native americans we not talked about because they make up such a small portion of the United States. The native american unemployment rate is at 22% compared to the United States rate of 5.5%. Native Americans live in such poverty because jobs often discriminate to their race. Police violence also has a strong effect on native american relationships, “According to a study by the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice, Native Americans are the racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement.” Due to the lack of infrastructure in most native american communities, they are often accused of more crimes than the
