The Importance Of Reading Strategies In Elementary

Chapter one summary talks about how children benefit from reading and apply it to different subjects whom they have acquired through variety of strategies in elementary. Teachers need to know the student and how the different methods may or may not work for them. From there whole comprises the child decoding and coding how that helps them with making mean with instruction. Next it starts comparing both research based reading instruction with culturally relevant instruction and gives examples of both may be used in teaching students. The main goal for implementing research based and culturally relevant is for students to succeed rather than keeping the same strategies where students do not improve or fail.
In 100-150 words, connect the ideas from the chapter 1 to the types of reading instruction you received in your own education. My own background of reading instruction I struggled with the phonograms and to me that made reading difficult especially my elementary years until middle school

Without writing the student would not connect pictures without words. Writing and reading go hand in hand because a child learns to write before reading they begin using motor skills where grabbing any pencil or marker they begin scribbling. Next they become older where they use environmental print and pictures to tell a story which to them that’s reading a book. The beginning of reading mainly involves looking at pictures and telling the story from but then it starts building towards learning to read the print. But also before the child becomes exposed to environmental which builds the child’s print concept. In both phases reading what you know and writing the known the child only reads off what they know but do not care to comprehend or try to spell the word correctly by sounding out the
