Which meant I was no longer able to spend time with her studying my reading. Being in second grade I felt as if I was stuck at my middle level reading group and I was no longer going to improve and get into the higher level like I so badly wanted for myself. With this, I soon buckled down and forced myself to read and sound out the words on my own. It seemed to help because I soon saw my reading grades go up and was getting transferred into the other levels of reading groups.
