The Quapaw indians were first known in 1673 when the french came upon them around the area that is now today's Arkansas from that they have been around a long time before that also. The Quapaw indians were not hunters they were mainly gatherers and farmers. They only hunted game for clothes or some food in the cold months and most of the time it was buffalo or white tailed deer.
