Despite being known as precisionists by their enemies, Puritans did have several forms of entertainment. The adults drank alcohol like rum and beer at parties or with their meals. They were able to bowl and skate. Other activities included swimming, hunting, archery, festivals,and storytelling.The only concern being, that the drinking couldn’t take place in public taverns or on a Sunday. The children were allowed to play with their parents permission.We ,however, have no restrictions

They lived in a patriarchal society. Women were excluded from town meetings and had no say in the church. They were viewed as instruments of Satan. Puritans would preach that the soul had two parts: an immortal masculine half and a mortal feminine half. Her God given duty? To be a good mate to her husband. Puritans believed in predestination. Everyone’s fate of going to heaven or to hell already decided. Each believer had no idea what their fate was going to be. The puritan’s actions/behavior would not affect the status of their destination. Therefore, it was very common to see Puritans undergo a lot of anxiety and stress.
