The ways the God helps us is by giving spiritual comfort. Just as what David went through when he wrote this psalm. He was in the desert, being hungry and dangerous. But when he recalled his experience with the God, his “soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness”(63:5). The most tough difficulties for one in trouble is the loss of hope. But with the help of the God, one can trust the future. Another important way for the God to help people in trouble is to punish bad people. David believed that “but those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth”(63:9). The God will save good people but punish bad ones. This belief made them believe good people will be saved by the God and bad people will be punished by the God. First, god is the water when you are in desert. To the people at that time, many poor people lived in miserable life. Believing in the God is the reason for not being hopeless. Then, God will punish bad people. This offers the answer for a question: if my enemy also believe in God, who will the God help? The reason is that God will help the good people. Therefore, this psalm give the foundation for believing in God.
To me, this psalm means I should be a goo people and never lose hope in front of difficulties. Believing in God is a way to overcome difficulties and being a good guy is the way to get the help from God. Nowadays, many people commit suicides. The reason is not believing in God. People believing in God will get soul comfort even in hopeless situation. In pursing of money, many people behavior badly, some even committing crimes.
