Death Penalty: Debate Upon the United States The death penalty is an ongoing issue in the United states that has has had many debates about the topic. While there are many supporters of the death penalty, there is a large number of people who would disagree and protest about this cause.. As of today, seventeen states have ended it and is no longer legal in those states. The death penalty should be legal worldwide and in every state. There are many reasons as to why death penalty should be legal in all states including punishment, intimidation , and the rights and wrongs. The death penalty is needed because it is used as a warning to criminals, brings a conclusion for victims, and is the only punishment suitable for murder.

When a person commits an awful crime, it takes over society on many levels. It takes away many lives of victims, peace they deserve, and liberty from the society. Death penalty given as a severe punishment brings peace to society and punishes the criminal for his wrongs. Budziszewski states, “Deserved punishment protects society morally by restoring this just order, making the wrongdoer pay a price equivalent to the harm he has done.” . Punishment also helps murder victims families become more less on their toes but rather justice will be served and they wont have to live in fear anymore. Some may see this as a type of revenge to get back at the criminal, but this punishment is not done to do harm on another, it is done for the need of justice. The shortness of wrong intentions is proven in the definition of retribution from Justifications for Capital Punishment: “retribution is a state sponsored, rational response to criminality that is justified given that the state is the victim when a crime occurs”. This helps bring back peace to victims families after they had been brought upon to these horrific …show more content…
I believe it is a great advantage because it can lower a great amount of people attempting murder. It intimidates future criminals from making crimes as well as performs revenge to the criminal and that shouldn 't be seen in a wrong way. There are many arguments against the death penalty, but they are usually not valid when looked deeply into the topic. It is important that all states come to an agreement and use death penalty rather than some states being legal and some not. The death penalty is useful in sentencing criminals that have committed some of the worst crimes known to society. Passing laws that make capital punishment legal throughout the United States is necessary so that justice can be served
