He does not deserve to be free. First of all, Oskar Groening should be imprisoned for the atrocity that he was a part of because it will teach a lesson to wrong doers and for the suffering of other people that he was a part of to cause. If not it would send the message to more people that doing such things can be forgiven. According to the article by Allan Hall, paragraph 6 states, “He is right that only god can forgive him, because I cannot. He was part of the machinery that murdered my family and even today, I can imagine him in his S.S. uniform and it sends chills down my spine.” which shows how that so many people suffered and gives living proof so those who have similar intentions will see the outcomes and maybe relent. It also acknowledges those survivors who suffered through all of that, that the people who caused their pain are being treated equally.
