(A Critique of Prodigal Son)
In 1611 James, first publishes an anthology, that is now known as the Bible. The anthology consists of many diverse stories told by the Hebrews. The Bible standardizes the english language. One of the stories that the Hebrews wrote was called Prodigal Son, this is a story about a father and his two sons that are very diverse. This story shows examples of many morals that are taught. Although this story teaches many lessons, it also presents some major messages such as the question if is it better to get handed whatever you wish, you don't always get rewarded for working hard, and money is not what matters.
In the anthology of Prodigal Son one of the key messages that is presented, is the question is it better to get handed the things you wish for instead of working for them. In the story the father has two boys who are completely opposite, the older brother is hard working, caring, and smart. The younger brother is the complete opposite, he doesn't work for anything and has always got everything handed to him. The older brother in the story is an extremely hard worker, he has been working his whole life to be successful. Even though he works hard he doesn't get alot of credit for all the hard work. His brother who isn't a hard worker gets everything that he wants. The older brother in the story envies his little brother because of that reason. He works hard, and gets nothing, his brother does nothing and gets whatever he wants. The older brother feels as if this is not fair.
