In the play, Nora demonstrates how deeply oppression affected her through misogyny. Nora’s role as a doll in her dollhouse, reveals the control that men had over her. Moreover, the belief that men should be the head of the household and domestic abuse are struggles that women and society itself struggles to face. As a woman, I too have faced misogyny. however, upon reading how a character such as Nora could face it strongly and confidently, gives me confidence that should I ever be in that situation, like her I can strongly face it. Nora like black people in Gaines’s novel, were discriminated over something they had no control over. As it has come to an end, I can say that it was truly a wonderful experience. This course taught me to self-regulate and to work independently. I could effectively manage my time and learn whilst in the comfort of my home. Being able to write an exam sitting in bed is probably the best exam experience I could ever ask for. Three things that I really enjoyed about this class include my ability to work independently. I tend to not be able to get work done in a school setting as I get easily distracted and irritated by noises. Being able to work at home, I could get work done faster in a setting that I thrived in. In addition, during the school year, we often are given small tasks to keep us busy. Doing English online, we were given the assignments that were necessary to complete and given the option of completing the small tasks rather than making them mandatory. Furthermore, I also enjoyed how straightforward the teacher was with us, as it helped stimulate a university setting where the teachers aren’t going to care about why an assignment wasn’t handed in. Even though teachers in school say that this is the year they will stop looking over our shoulder, they still do. Although I enjoyed this course, to make it even better I would improve the instructions given as they were often difficult to understand what was asked, I would increase the amount of interaction with classmates, and I would increase the
