In recent years the term ”Political Correctness” has been used more widely than ever before. It is usually used as a pejorative, not uncommonly from the right, talking down on people who they think are avoiding the truth by not offending anyone.
They are afraid that by the usage of PC language they will lose their right to offend people without being instantly labeled as racists. While instantly labeling someone as a racist is not right in any way the reason something has become PC is because someone is offended by it, almost always a minority group. See, it is always the middle aged, white man who complains about something being PC.
