In the ‘Lord of the Flies’ book there are two characters that are the same, but also different. There’s Piggy. Then there’s Ralph. Both boys are stranded on an island, but both have a different perspective on things. Even though, Piggy most of the time agrees with Ralph. Both boys encounter dangerous tasks. Both have a different perspective on how to take care of them. They meet other boys on the island, such as, Jack, Simon, Percival, the twins SamnEric, and Roger. Each boy has a different insight on how to take care of things, but I’m going to tell you about Ralph and Piggy, how they are alike, and how they are different.
First off, Piggy and Ralph are both smart. Piggy is book smart, Ralph is street smart. Piggy thinks things through, Ralph doesn’t take any time at all to think things through. Second, Piggy and Ralph’s physique are totally different. Piggy is chubby and has asthma and wears glasses. Ralph is built strong like a “boxer”. Third, boys are courageous, although Ralph is courageous in the beginning and towards the end being afraid, while Piggy is a coward in the beginning and towards the end ends up being courageous.

Piggy is smart and so is Ralph. They are just two different kinds of smart. They both are really good at making decisions quickly. Piggy is like Ralph’s advisor. Piggy helps Ralph make his decisions. Ralph is the leader so he makes the final decision, but Piggy is the one that throws out decisions and help Ralph make the final decision. Ralph and Piggy are both smart, but Ralph is more courageous than Piggy in the beginning. So, Ralph makes all these dangerous decisions and Piggy doesn’t want to because it is dangerous.
