On December 15, 2009, Philadelphia police officers; Michael Gwynn and Brendon Ryan were advised by their supervisor, after returning to the department, that one of the men they stopped and frisked filed a complaint against them. The supervisor advised the two officers that the complainant accused them of stealing money from him.
The supervisor took them to an office and ordered them to remain in the officer until the Internal Affairs officers advised. They were also informed not to use their cell phones. While waiting, the two officers were questioned about the missing money.
