With any and all religiously based arguments the ongoing debate of whether or not to involve prayer in public school is heated. Both parties on the subject at hand have valid concerns and legitimate stand points. With the society that we live in today’s day and age is entirely involved with religious freedoms that allow us all free liberties. The subject matter of prayer in public school has existed in the U.S since around the 1830’s. However in and around that time there wasn’t any laws established surrounding prayer until about 1962 according to (Faqs-prayer.com). Laws began to become established in and around 2000. For instance those that had opposed the banning of prayer before school had begun to sponsor sports games instead Prayer in public school is still a huge constant battle, which in essence will probably never go astray. In example to support this is that “Congress prays before every session, and it’s completely obviously stated that for members of one’s religion it’s acceptable for prayer to be amongst congress officials (ACLU). This opposes the question as to “Why then are schools exempt?” Another example is when a witness is sworn in court he or she is required put there right hand on the Bible and “Swear to God” (ACLU). According to the “School Prayer” group, the clause known as the “Free Exercise Clause,” protects the rights of the school system. This organization protects the rights of the school system in order to bring prayer back to the school system. The group’s interpretation of the first amendment has been known to insist that it encourages religion in public school in order to bring proper avocation for prayer in public schools
