Some object to equal power under the law on a religious standpoint, arguing if the good Lord would have wanted equality among the races then it shall happen. Indeed, I preach to the same lord, being a Clergyman myself, and it is the Lord who has given us the courage and strength to continue our suffrage. And while I do believe that God created all the natural laws you and I follow; it is important to determine the distinction between the natural laws God has set in place for us on this earth and the unjust laws that segregate our society of which are man-made. Others may object to the integration because it will strip the white power away from citizens and take away their superiority. But yet the purpose of our struggle is not to be seen as greater than fellow white brothers and sisters but be able to share similar opportunities. The nation has fought this similar battle before. During the revolutionary war, the country did not want to break away from England and their unjust laws because they thought they were superior. The nation’s founding fathers and ancestors chose to escape England’s rule because their unjust laws that de-marginalized the New World citizens. Consequently, it is this struggle that the negro community is facing today. Choosing to promote independence
