When the founding fathers said: "A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined..." they do say that people can have the right to bear arms but that they should be disciplined (to be able to understand how to handle a gun and know the dos and don’ts. People should not be careless about guns and only having them just because they want to. Under which they really need protection from someone is when they should have a gun. On April 20, 1999 eighteen and seventeen year old Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris whom attended Columbine High School came to the school with trench coats and opened fire on their fellow student's killing 12 students and teachers, while wounding 24 others, ultimately, taking their own lives. In all, the study looked at 160 shootings since 2000.” These statistics have shown that the most deaths in mass shootings have been from Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, Colorado movie theater and Sandy Hook Elementary school. The Colorado movie theater had the most people whom were wounded than deaths but Virginia Tech had more deaths than people that were wounded. The list goes on but those are the most notable mass shootings to occur. The president has even spoke on the matter specifically after the Sandy Hook shooting because of the amount of deaths of children which took an impact on the society and everyone all around. “In 21 of 45 shootings in which officers confronted the gunmen, nine officers were killed and 28 were wounded. Four officers were killed in ambushes, and in three cases, armed security guards who were not law enforcement officers were killed. In two other shootings, two unarmed security officers were killed and two were wounded.” Even with cops confronting this matter and trying to do something the matter just creates more mass destruction by them getting hurt and making people think that they cannot get
