Liking is the most important quality to have when trying to pursue people. I say that this is important because no one is going to want to do business with you if they don’t like you. People will look at the actions of other people to determine whether they do the same thing or not. This gives you a 50/50 chance of getting a yes or no answer. Other people can influence a person to do what they are doing simply by doing the action first; especially when they are uncertain. I chose this as my last point because in order to persuade people: liking them opens the door, consistency will make your way inside, but in order to close the deal, people will be influenced by others to go through with whatever favor you have. When I was prom shopping with my friends in high school, we all wanted to go get them together so we could “approve” each other’s dress. My friend tried on a dress she really liked, but because the majority of us said we didn’t like it so she ended up buying a different dress. The reason we said no is because the dress looked like a wedding gown and she was so in love with her boyfriend, she wanted to implant ideas into his head. Friends influence your decisions because you trust their opinion and share similar ideas. Rather than using our own ability to persuade others, other people are already persuading
