If he thinks I can handle this then I can. Peace, number two of the Spices. What is peace to the Quaker faith well it is "build conflict resolution skills, see conflict as a springboard for moral growth, seek elegant, simple solutions to problems or disagreements, make decisions by consensus or the "sense of the meeting" (The Quaker Testimonies, 2010). For me, this is one of the hardest beliefs because Quakers do not believe in going to war. Now my papal was a Quaker and he had to go to war because he was in the Marines. I found out later was that the Quakers looked down on him for that. This belief sticks with me also because for as I have grown up in the Quaker faith we were always taught to respect our elders the most but to also not look at anyone differently or judge. This belief has helped me make friends with many new people and go out of my comfort zone. The last one of the Quaker faith is Stewardship. Which is, “protect and care for the Earth in a sacred trust, promote environmental, economic, and social sustainability, and teach social justice and the need for equal access to resources” (The Quaker Testimonies, 2010).
