Speaking as a youth of tomorrow, I can inspire a change in their lives by raising awareness to the sensitivity of this controversial topic. Enabling a change, beginning a movement to uphold undocumented rights, requires politicians to understand why undocumented communities are reduced to numbers and stereotypes is a priority. I endeavor to become an international rights lawyer and in listening and engaging with my community, I may one day advance my political aspiration for immigration reform. Through, Dream Summer I will further strengthen my experience and overall understanding of the immigrant community. Networking with people that have enacted change in my community will allow me to grow from the biased repercussions of my own community and understand both sides of the political spectrum. As a DACA recipient, I can understand and support the immigrant community but I cannot enact change if I do not understand the opposing views of American citizens. Through Dream Summer I hope to change my perspective on immigration by achieving a deeper perspective of the opposing community.
