Ashley Mayes is a lawyer ( Assistant District Attroney).She got her Bachelor's in Science Mgmt (BSM) in Business Mgmt and Legal Studies in Business from Tulane University in 2005. I received my Juris Doctorate (JD) and a Diploma in Comparative Law (DCL) from LSU Law in 2011. Also, she has a license in Tx, and works for the Harris County attroney office for 3 months. As she described her job description she said she was "what they call a number 3 prosecutor in Harris County Criminal Court at Law #7". I'm assigned misdemeanor cases. I primarily handle DWIs, small drug cases, sexually oriented offenses like prostitution, thefts, and criminal mischief cases. I gather evidence and locate witnesses in each of my cases. I'd also recommend that you explore the courthouse and pop in on trials to watch prosecutors in action. Her inspirations were to be a trial attroney. She worked for criminal defense, family, and probate law she wasn't happy doing that because she wasn't gaining any trial experience. Now she does trial all the time at her new job. I asked her how did she know that was the job for her she said , " I spend most of the time in law school in trial competitions". It became a passion of mine and I was very good at it. I also asked her if there was any other career that she wanted to exceed she said sports agent but she was she wasn't interested in that anymore. The weaknesses she had were she procrastinates and her strengths are keeping calm under extreme pressure, public speaking, after being a defense attroney for almost 2 years she's ables to consider both situations. How quickly do you respond to calls? she said " I struggle in this area. I try to go through my voicemail every few days. I tell people to email me since I can respond quicker.
