The life of a person in the American society depends on the environment that a person is placed in. Each individual person has a different perspective and this is mine. Sociological forces such as my gender, ethnicity, and my social class have had an effect on the experiences I have had in my life. Although I have faced many different sociological forces, I still strive to overcome the obstacles that society has placed in my life.
How My Gender Affects My Life I have felt that my gender has had an effect on my life. As a female in a male dominant society, I have encountered different experiences that males would not have. In the United States, there is a culture that focuses on the male point of view and the female view is ignored. From my own personal experiences, I have felt that my opinions were not important in a group project setting in school. I have found that my conviction and argument for a certain issue is invalid because my sex is viewed as weak.
