While there are many elements to a successful mentor relationship, three qualities are particularly important to me. First, I would like to learn from a mentor with significant employment law and civil rights trial experience. I intend to develop a dynamic trial practice, thus the insights from an established trial litigator would be incredibly valuable. Second, I would benefit from an effective sounding board: a mentor that is both supportive and skeptical of my ideas to ensure that I am carefully considering my professional and personal growth. Third, a mentor that is willing to open his or her network and thoughtfully facilitate connections with helpful individuals or organizations would significantly further my career
