The aims of the Parkinson’s UK campaign is to raise awareness to the illness and to raise money to help find way to cure the disease. Alike to any Cancer campaign the aims are both to raise money in order to prevent this disease from occurring anymore throughout the UK. They also both are also trying to spread awareness to their particular campaign. However, Parkinson’s is not well known, despite currently having 127,000 people suffering from this in the UK. In the near future this number is set to increase. ‘By 2020 the number of people with Parkinson's will rise to 162,000, an increase of 28%’ - according to the Parkinson’s UK website. This means that the numbers are dramatically increasing and without much awareness to this particular campaign, it will keep rising. It benefits an individual because they offer treatment, exercise and support to help them try to live as long as possible. And it benefits the nation because it offers everyone information and support for those who have friends or family member’s struggling with the disease, as it can also be a stressful and upsetting time for them. I believe that TV adverts will be most successful, simply because the UK watch a lot off TV and with emotional and shocking adverts, it can trigger a lot of people sitting at home. I think in this case a screening is more important that health risk advice because it is an illness and a screening can improve the stability of someone’s future if they find out they have been diagnosed.
