Recently on the Gaza Strip alone in July and August of 2014, at least 2,100 Palestinians were killed, 1,500 of whom were civilians. This battle alone injured 11,000 people, and displaced 108,000 people from their homes and communities. These shocking statistics are no surprise because events like these happen quite frequently in this area. Most of these events are acts of terrorism carried out by extreme members of terrorists organizations from either Palestinian or Israeli communities. A great depiction of this act being carried out is in the film Paradise Now. The film portrays two young Palestinian men who are members of an elite Palestinian terrorist group. Their mission is to suicide bomb as many people as they can in the city of Jerusalem. The two men Khaled and Said are struggling to find a stable job throughout the beginning of the movie, the terrorist act that they went through could be a way of actually making something of their lives, and being regarded as heroes to their people. Said is the only one who actually goes through with the mission, mostly because of the pride he has for Palestine and the hatred he has for Israel.
