Objectification of women represented by sexualized images has long been a trend in today’s mass media in many countries and cultures. Media gaze, especially advertisement, put strong focus on female as sexual objects rather than human beings. Why this phenomenon is so prevalent, the most obvious outward reason is because the more the media uses sexual content regarding female, the more closely the “eyeballs” of audience, especially but not exclusively those of male audience, are attracted and they are more willing to consume the products being promoted. Nevertheless, the deeper reason lies in the socialization of gender difference and finally in the culture.
