1.2 Background

Foods in the 1970 's started to move toward expanded dependence upon handled sustenance, expanded far from home admission and more prominent utilization of palatable oils and sugar-sweetened refreshments and so on. “Obesity poses a major public health challenge. Each year, obesity contributes to an estimated 112,000 preventable deaths.” (JAMA. 2005).Obesity is generally defined as plump of the body. However, there is not any specific tool to measure fatness directly but often BMI used to measure body weight. According to food historian Harvey Levenstein “In the 19th century a big change come,” French innovator Nicolas Appert 12,000 francs Awarded to Napoleon Bonaparte in 1810 for his invention of canning. He needed a long lasting supply of food to an army.Later on, in 80 century Appert’s discovery is used by the industrialists and many other inventions begin producing canned, cereal, and crackers food. In history, it was the first time when food was made far from consumers. Later on in the 1910s the food we used now had been started producing at industries. In fact, 1 in 4 grown-ups (matured 25–44 years) and 1 in 5 (19%) youthful grown-ups (matured 18–24 years) reported utilizing calorie data when making fast-food buys in New York City.
